Here we are, in the age of Multi-platform Media, building upon fundamental technological breakthroughs which have enabled the convergence of media, communications, consumer electronics and IT.
Multi-platform media gives consumers additional opportunities both to access and to interact with audiovisual content. It enables them to create, handle and transfer
content between multiple locations all over the world. They can increasingly broadcast, stream or download digital content from a growing number of platforms to a plethora of devices.
The dawning of this Multiplatform Media world offers both challenges and opportunities to the various stakeholders, especially to broadcasters who must adapt: formats, programmes, business strategies - everything. However, by using all the various platforms, you benefit from more possibilities to offer your services and increased visibility.
That is why the subject of your conference is timely. The main question is indeed:

"How do broadcasters with revenues based on advertising or subscription fees adapt
their business strategies to survive in this increasingly convergent, globalised and competitive market?"
