NBCU's Global Networks division, responsible for the Peacock's international channel strategy, has struck a carriage deal with telecoms company OTE, which will see Universal Channel broadcast in Greece for the first time.
OTE's Conn-x TV service will launch the channel today. NBC series including Flipping Out, Flashpoint and Nurse Jackie will get their Greek premiere on the service, while bigger shows like 30 Rock, The Office and My Name is Earl will also feature, plus series from NBCU's Sci Fi channel. Blockbuster movies from Universal Studios, Fox and CBS Paramount add to the line-up.
The Greek launch for Universal Channel comes as NBCU Global Networks continues its bid to establish a portfolio of 100 channels internationally by 2010.
